How to make Fresh Bread without an Oven in just 2 hours
You can make bread easily without using an oven and it tastes just like the bread you get from the bakery. This recipe uses a steaming technique to bake the dough and then finish cooking it in a saucepan on the stove top.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups of Milk
- 1 tbsp of Sugar
- 1 tsp Yeast
- 2 cups of All Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp of Butter
- Salt
- 1 Egg Yolk
- Sesame Seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Add 1.5 cups of Milk to a bowl.
- Add 1 tbsp of Sugar.
- Add 1 tsp Yeast.
- Mix everything together.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth and set it aside for 5 minutes.
- While mixing, add 2 cups of All Purpose Flour slowly into the bowl and form the dough.
- Once the dough is formed, add 1 tbsp of Butter.
- Add some Salt.

Mix everything together and knead the dough.
- Now rub some Oil on top of the dough.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth and set it aside for 1 hour for the dough to rise.
- After about 1 hour, take the dough and knead it again a few times.
- Now flatten the dough using a rolling pin.
- Cover the inside of a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Place the dough on top of the parchment paper in the baking pan.
- Score the top of the dough.
- Add 1 Egg Yolk into a bowl.
- Add 1 tbsp of Milk into the bowl.
- Mix the Egg Yolk and Milk together.
- Now rub this Egg mixture on top of the dough.
- Add some Sesame Seeds on top (optional).
- Place a large pot on the stove with a stand inside.
- Pour some enough Water into the pot in order for us to steam this bread.

Place the baking pan inside of the pot on top of the stand and cook.
- After about half an hour of cooking, remove it from the stove.
- Flip it and remove the parchment paper.
- Heat some Oil in a saucepan.
- Cook each side and the edges of the bread in the saucepan until it is golden colored.
