Traditional Breadfruit Curry that has reduced body heatyness

Breadfruit Curry is a favorite of many people but it produces body heatyness. We prepare this traditional recipe in a special way that will reduce it. Prepared this way, you can serve it for multiple meals throughout the day and it doesn't require any additional curries.

Ingredients

  • 1 Breadfruit
  • 6 to 7 Nai Miris
  • 9 Garlic Cloves
  • Some Peppercorn
  • Some Curry Leaves
  • Some Coconut pieces
  • 3 Onions
  • 3 Green Chilies
  • Some Cumin Seeds
  • Some Turmeric Powder
  • Some Fenugreek Seeds
  • 3 tsp Chili Powder
  • Some Pandan Leaves (Rampe)
  • 1 piece of Goraka
  • 2 cups of Coconut Milk
  • Salt
  • 2 Chilies broken into smaller pieces by hand
  • Some Mustard Seeds
  • Some Roasted Curry Powder

Instructions

Preparing the Breadfruit

  1. Cut the Breadfruit into wedges.
  2. Remove the middle part.
  3. Remove the skin.
  4. Slice the Breadfruit wedges into thick slices.
  5. Now add the pieces into a pot.
  6. Add Water until all of the pieces are covered.
  7. Boil the Breadfruit pieces in the pot.
  8. After boiling, drain all of the Water.

Preparing the Curry Mixture

  1. Now add 6 to 7 Nai Miris to a blender.
  2. Add 5 Garlic Cloves.
  3. Add some Peppercorn.
  4. Add some Curry Leaves.
  5. Add some Coconut pieces.
  6. Add an Onion sliced into 4 quarters.
  7. Add a Green Chili.
  8. Add some Cumin Seeds.
  9. Add a little bit of Water and blend it into a paste consistency.

Preparing the Tempered Mixture

  1. Heat some Oil in a saucepan.
  2. Add some sliced Onions.
  3. Add 4 Garlic Cloves.
  4. Add 2 Chilies broken into smaller pieces by hand.
  5. Add some Curry Leaves.
  6. Add some Mustard Seeds.
  7. Stir everything together and lightly fry it.
  8. Turn off the stove for this fried mixture.
  9. Add 1 tsp Chili Powder.
  10. Add some Roasted Curry Powder.
  11. Mix everything together thoroughly.

Final Steps

  1. Now add some Turmeric Powder to the Breadfruit in the pot.
  2. Add some Fenugreek Seeds.
  3. Add 2 tsp Chili Powder.
  4. Add some Curry Leaves.
  5. Add some Pandan Leaves (Rampe).
  6. Add a piece of Goraka.
  7. Add 2 sliced Green Chilies.
  8. Add half an Onion sliced.
  9. Add about 2 cups of Coconut Milk until everything is covered.
  10. Add some Salt to taste.
  11. Bring it to a boil.
  12. After about 7 to 8 minutes, it should be boiling so add Curry mixture we made earlier.
  13. Mix thoroughly.
  14. Now add the Tempered mixture into the Breadfruit Curry and mix thoroughly.
