Seeni Sambol Buns are a classic Sri Lankan short eats containing a spicy sweet caramelized onion filling that is wrapped by a soft savoury fried bun. They make a mouthwatering teatime snack. This recipe uses simple ingredients and does not require any eggs or an oven to make so it is perfect for vegetarians and vegans alike.

If you like a more sweeter option for teatime, try my Jam Paan or Seeni Banis recipes. While they are very simple to make, if you just want a simple cookie, check out my Gnanakatha Cookies recipe which is a traditional village recipe they still make to this day.
