How to make Jam Paan at home, easy Jam Buns Recipe

Jam Paan (also known as Jam Paas) is a bakery item that everyone loves. There are some important things to know when making this. Using this recipe, we will make tasty and soft Jam Paan at home.

This is a sweet treat for that afternoon tea but if you want something spicy, try my Jam Paan recipe.

Ingredients

  • 250g of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp of Yeast
  • 1 tbsp of Sugar
  • 2 Egg
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp of Butter (or Cooking Oil)
  • Jam

Instructions

  1. Add 250g of All Purpose Flour into a bowl.
  2. Add 1 tsp of Yeast.
  3. Add 1 tbsp of Sugar.
  4. Add 1 Egg.
  5. Add a pinch of Salt.
  6. Mix everything together thoroughly by hand.
  7. Now add warm Water slowly while mixing and forming the dough.
  8. After forming the dough, add 1 tbsp of Butter.
  9. Knead the dough thoroughly until it becomes soft. You can tell it is the correct consistency when the dough is stretchy.
  10. Now rub some Oil around the dough and inside the bowl. Do not let this dough dry.
  11. Now cover the bowl and set it aside for about an hour for the dough to double in size.
  12. Now mix the dough to remove any air bubbles.
  13. Split the dough into 6 pieces.
  14. Flatten each piece into a medium thick circle. Do not make it too thin.
  15. Spread the Jam on one half of each dough piece.
  16. Now use the other side to fold and seal the edge.
  17. Use a small lid from a bottle to make a decorative pattern on the edge.
  18. Cover a tray with parchment paper.
  19. Place each of the Jam Paan on the parchment paper.
  20. Cover the tray with a kitchen towel and let the dough rest again for about 10 minutes.
  21. Now rub some Egg Yolk on the top of each Jam Paan.
  22. Sprinkle some Sugar on the top of each Jam Paan.
  23. Preheat the oven to 180 celsius.
  24. Bake for about 20 minutes.
