How to make Boondi Laddo, a popular Indian Sweet
Boondi Laddo is a soft melt in your mouth sweet made from Gram Flour that is very simple to make requiring only a few ingredients. It is a very popular sweet in India. In this recipe, we're adding the natural color by using Turmeric Powder.

Ingredients
- 300g of Gram Flour
- 250g of Sugar
- Salt
- Crushed Cardamom
- Turmeric Powder
- 50g of chopped Peanuts
- Chopped Cashews (optional)
- 1.5 tbsp of Ghee
Instructions
- Sieve 300g of Gram Flour into a bowl.
- Add Salt to taste.

While adding lukewarm Water, a little at a time, mix and form a runny batter that does not have any clumps.
- Heat some Oil in a saucepan that we will be using to fry the Boondi.
- Deep fry the Boondi by adding small sized droplets (size of a penny) of it into the hot Oil through a strainer spoon or piping bag.
- Add the fried Boondi into a bowl.
- Now heat 1 cup of Water over medium heat.
- Add 250g of Sugar.
- Add Salt to taste.
- Add some crushed Cardamom.
- Add some Turmeric Powder.
- Stir frequently until the Sugar has melted and the mixture is bubbling.
- Now turn off the stove and let the mixture cool down a little.
- Add the fried Boondi into the mixture.
- Turn the stove to medium heat.

Mix thoroughly.
- Add 50g of chopped Peanuts.
- Add some chopped Cashews (optional)
- Keep stirring until all of the liquid has evaporated and you have a thick mixture that clumps together.
- Turn off the stove.
- Add 1.5 tbsp of Ghee.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Turn off the stove and let the Laddo mixture cool down a little.
- Scoop some of the mixture into your hands and shape it into a Laddo shape.
