If you are bored eating Kiribath, Roti, Pittu, and Cassava with the same regular Lunu Miris that everyone makes, this recipe is for you. In the olden days, Sri Lankan villagers made several different types of Lunu Miris that most people do not know about today. In this recipe, we are showing you 3 of those types which are Ihi Nala Lunu Miris, Nourishing Lunu Miris, and Green Lunu Miris.

The Ihi Nala Lunu Miris can be kept for up to 1 month in a dry airtight container. Just be sure to use a dry spoon when scooping some out.

The Green Lunu Miris should be made only when it's time to serve because it is not preserved. Traditionally, the ingredients for the Green Lunu Miris was blended coarsely so that there is a chunky texture when eating it.

The Nourishing Lunu Miris provides a spicy and tangy taste to any meal which will make it more appetizing. This is important when a person is sick because they often lose their appetite.
